Who should apply?
- Tech professionals who want to remain competitive and accelerate their career trajectory.
- Recent graduates who want to gain a stronger foundation before delving into industry.
- Other professionals with significant tech experience and passion who want to gain a stronger foundation and practical experience in computer science to collaborate and work with others who may already have a CS background.
Recommended Preparation
It is highly recommended that applicants have a strong programming foundation, in addition to the following preparation, before submitting an application for admission:
- At least one course in programming in C++, Java, Python, or C, or equivalent of professional experience.
- At least one course in algorithms or data structures.
- At least one course in discrete mathematics, boolean algebra, and linear algebra.
- At least one year of relevant internship or professional experience.

Applicants must provide the following:

- Unofficial Transcripts
- Scan and upload copies of transcripts for all institutions attended after high school. Official transcripts will be requested if the applicant is offered admission to MCS.
- Statement of Purpose
- Please tell us who you are, including your personal, academic, and professional goals, as well as why and how you believe the MCS program will help you to achieve these goals.
- Personal History Statement
- Please describe any circumstances that have contributed to your successes and/or challenges encountered during your academic and/or professional career. How may these have impacted your pursuit of the MCS degree? What experiences may you have had that will contribute to the cohort’s diversity and success?
- 3 Letters of Recommendation
- Recommenders should be individuals who can evaluate your academic and/or professional achievements, including your strengths and weaknesses, your character, integrity, and motivation for pursuing the MCS program. It is highly recommended that at least two of the three letters are from academic professors.
- TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
